I tell the story to kids and make them understand toe moral and meaning of it. Then I make them to perform and act like they r those characters.
Let me know your ideas if something unique

Re: Brother Wolf's invitation to post...
My involvement with storytelling links to childhood listening to family stories. Gosh my Mom and Aunts and Uncles have good memories! My maternal grandparents were from Tennessee/Kentucky. They passed on stories they had learned as well as great reminisces. When I became an early childhood educator I enjoyed storytelling with children and looked for ways to increase my ability. My start was a story I heard from my Mom who had heard it from her Ma or Papa…

By Robert (Max Tell) Stelmach

Margaret Read MacDonald, author, librarian, and storyteller, in “The Storyteller's Start-up Book”, outlines several lists of why we should tell stories - starting with her own list and following with those by Dr. Spencer Shaw, from “Storytelling For Young Listeners”; Pamela J. Cooper and Rives Collin from their book, “Look What happened to Frog: Storytelling in Education”; and Gail De Vos from “Sto…

I've just got back from my storytelling session in Arenys de Mar. I had a really good time and although one day ahead of its official day I feel I've done my bit in marking world storytelling day here in Spain. I told The Gigantic Turnip which fitted well with the theme this year of neighbours and the time of year, spring time for planting. There were not as many children as hoped as today they had a day off school and therefore were out of there normal routine of school and then library. The ch…

I thought as way of thanks I would write a short article giving thanks to all those bloggers who have been so supportive of my podcast over the years. Keeping in mind that many of these people have become my friends, I apologize to any worthy storytelling blogger who feels excluded form this list.

It’s been a long time since I celebrated Guy Fawkes Night as I’ve lived in Spain for thirteen years but tonight I enjoyed telling my son all about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot. It’s a very exciting story where the conspirators make a deadly plan, a dramatic escape but come to a gruesome end. The Gunpowder, Treason and Plot website makes an excellent resource for telling this historical story.
Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire Night is celebrated annually on 5th November. It commemorates the Gunp…

I remember as a child on Halloween, imagining witches flying through the night, and as I celebrated my son’s first Halloween, I became one of those witches! It was a perfect night, with a high swirling wind, blowing through the trees and the crashing of the waves on the beach. (Thankfully it had stopped raining, which had been my son’s concern for most of the day) We quickly got changed into our disfraces; Witch and Skeleton as my husband helped with last minute make-up.
We rushed down to my fr…

30th Sept. marks the beginning of 10 days of celebrations for Hindus in India called Dussera. It overlaps with the Muslim festivities and austerities in the same holy month, called Ramzan.
Every festival in India is associated with a story! That is the uniqueness of our collectivist culture. Every festival is a reason for us to socialise, with neighbors with family and with friends. There is more, every region will have a different story to tell for the same festivities!! Some times the story re…

I mentioned this story yesterday and Eric asked that I post it here, and I always do what I am told. :)
I traveled to the state of Washington last month and while there I came across this story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Here are seven simple suggestions for getting the maximum benefit out of being a member of the Storytelling with Children NING.
1) Upload a picture into your profile.
An example of your art is fine – but I would suggest that you upload a picture of your smiling face because then you will run into more people on the street or at the national storytelling confurence or workshops and have great conversations about your art form. This will really help people who do not know you to meet you.
2) Po…
